Two bets in one
An each-way stake is split between a win part and a place part. A winning selection can return on both parts; a selection that places but does not win may return only on the place part. If it finishes outside the places, both parts lose.
Read the place terms
The event terms state how many places count and what fraction of the win odds applies to the place part. These can vary by race and market. Check them before calculating potential returns; do not assume standard terms apply to every event.
Check the total stake
If you enter €5 each-way, the total stake is €10 because the amount is applied to both parts. The bet slip should show the total. Confirm that figure and the selection before placing the bet.
Frequently asked questions
Does an each-way stake count twice?
Yes. The stated each-way amount is placed on the win part and again on the place part, so the total stake is twice the each-way unit stake.
